At Neil Lerner’s north London showroom a kitchen is never just a kitchen. It is a cooking, eating and living zone; where you are likely to spend much of your time. Yet, more than anything, a Neil Lerner kitchen is the product of 30 years of experience, utilising space carefully and stylishly interpreting the latest fashion without being a slave to it.
Known for his refreshingly unfussy and functional urban look, Neil creates contemporary kitchens that are custom-designed in England and manufactured in Germany. As always he exhibits his natural instinct for trends and a keen interest in the development and use of materials.
Recently launched is the modular kitchen (shown) and Neil enjoys challenging the way we think of kitchen design with this new concept. By stripping the fitted kitchen back to its bare essentials, it is possible to rebuild and create a system kitchen based on 28 functional elements. Each segment is a stand alone item in its own right and can be combined exactly to need and taste. Best of all, the modules – for storage, cooking, baking and washing – can be taken away when you move. Genius!

Colour is very important in the kitchen in 2011 with design studios steering away from neutral hues. At Neil Lerner Solutions, vibrant shades are combined with a palette of polar white, pebble grey and anthracite for an uber-contemporary look.
Shiny violet in a glossy laminated finish is combined with antique white cupboards, to bring depth and warmth to a contemporary setting. The stand-alone cooking block, with chic Elica extraction, has sandstone grey worktops and an antique white breakfast counter .
Kitchens from Neil Lerner Solutions start from £13,000
